WasteWater Treatment

Activated Sludge Process Utilizing Membrane Technology

Reiken Solutions is a subsidiary of Wastewater Solutions Group GmbH. Our focus is the provision of eco-friendly biological treatment solutions that are designed for the treatment of municipal and industrial wastewater that consistently meet effluent parameters of re-useable quality for irrigation or showers. We offer simple, fully biological sewage treatment plants, such as activated sludge system (continuous flow principle), Sequential Batch Reactor (SBR) process, as well as plants with membrane technology.

Operating Principle

The cascade technique throughput system is specifically designed to operate based on the activated sludge (extended aeration) principle utilizing MBR-technology.

The untreated sewage water enters the system through a lifting station and is then pumped to an automatic fine screen featuring a 1mm slot for screening. Screened materials are automatically removed and transferred to a solid waste container without direct involvement of the plant operator.

The activated sludge mixture from the aeration tanks is extracted over the AQQA filter membranes (plate membrane system) which has a permeate pump and is capable of filtering particles as small as <0.1 microns.

Any excess sludge generated during the treatment process is pumped out of the MBR tanks via a submersible pump and transferred to an excess sludge holding tank for eventual evacuation. The sludge can be dried with a sludge press or drying system.

Thanks to the MBR process, the sewage treatment systems require smaller activation tanks with no limitations for buffering and provide a higher efficiency of purification.

Furthermore, the ultra-filtration aspect of the MBR technology eliminates the need for additional cleaning stages such as chlorine, UV or activated carbon to comply with effluent standards.

Our containerized solutions offer different package options.

Our designs are meticulously calculated and developed in compliance with the ATV and conform to all relevant standards and regulations from the European Union pertaining to wastewater treatment.

All mechanical equipment components, including electrical measuring and control devices, are installed within a CSC approved ISO Norm-container. To ensure that raw wastewater in the tank does not come in direct contact with the steel container wall, the internal walls of the ISO Norm-container are lined with a High Density Polyethylene lining. This effectively prevents corrosion and significantly extends the container’s lifespan.

The containers are available in 20ft, 40ft or 40ft High-Cube ISO Norm Containers, with hydraulic load capacities ranging from 20 – 160m3/d (200PE – 450PE), 45 – 350m3/d (450PE – 100PE), and 55 – 440m3/d (550PE – 1250PE), respectively.

Furthermore, we offer the option of modularity, which enables us to expand the capacity of our wastewater treatment systems by assembling several container options together, according to the end-user’s specific requirements.

HDPE Tank

In situations where an ISO Norm Container is not suitable, we offer the option of installing the mechanical and electrical equipment in high density polyethylene (HDPE) tanks.

The treatment process remains the same, with only the holding tanks being different. Nevertheless, the modularity advantage is still present in this configuration, enabling us to achieve nearly the same capacities.

Concrete Tank Installations

With our layout design, we can provide guidance to the construction team of the end-user regarding the required dimensions for the installation of the MBR system in a reinforced concrete tank.

Our system has the capability to treat a daily hydraulic load capacity ranging from 20m3 to 20,000m3.
